Registration Is Now Open for September 7 CPE Webcast, An In-Depth Look at the GASB’s Pension Proposals
Norwalk, CT, August 25, 2011—Registration is now open for the upcoming Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) webcast, An In-Depth Look at the GASB’s Pension Proposals. This live webcast, offered free of charge, will take place on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. EDT. Participants in the live broadcast will be eligible for up to 3 hours of CPE credit.The webcast will focus on two recently- issued GASB Exposure Drafts relating to pension accounting. Topics of discussion will be the significant changes proposed in the financial reporting by the governments that provide pension benefits, and the reporting by the individual pension plans that administer those benefits. By the end of the webcast, listeners will understand the key proposed guidance contained in the documents, how the documents would change accounting and financial reporting for pensions, and other issues of importance to the preparers, auditors, and users of governmental financial reports.
