GASB Schedule of Public Hearings and Users Forums
For Financial Reporting Model Invitation to Comment

The GASB has scheduled the public hearings and user forums to obtain input from interested individuals and organizations about the issues discussed in the forthcoming Invitation to Comment from the project reexamining the financial reporting model. (See the description of the document in From the Chairman’s Desk.) The hearings and forums will be conducted by the Board and its staff. Interested parties are encouraged to participate at the hearings and forums, as appropriate, or to respond in writing.

These events—which will take place in April and May 2017—will allow GASB stakeholders additional opportunities to offer face-to-face feedback to the Board. One of the key benefits of these feedback mechanisms is that they provide an opportunity for interested individuals to present their views to the Board and to participate in an exchange of ideas with Board members and dialogue among the participants, which may raise issues that otherwise might not have been mentioned.
Your views can help shape the outcome of this critical project: a single, well-crafted, convincing argument from any quarter can influence the decisions made by the Board.
